I am dedicated to creating scenes and additions mainly for people
who mountes the Christmas crib in their homes. I work several scales since 1:35
up to 1: 6
EL BELEN is a tradition deeply rooted in many places of
Spain and of course in Italy where are my main customers,
although my products are in many parts of the world
Germany, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, China, States
…United, Japan, Malta, United Kingdom

Tell us, do you have a family? Children?

Yes, I am married and have three children aged 18, 15 and 12, boys.

How was your passion for model creation born?

It all started at Christmas when our eldest son had two
years: Then we started to build cardboard houses
placed in our family Christmas crib. (I could not find on the market
that I loved).
I worked in public administration as a veterinarian, when
my little boy was three years old I quit my job
(September 2010), that’s when I decided to do my hobby
my job.
Little by little, I searched and improved.
In March 2011, I opened El Portal del Belén SC, a company
who was one of the two members who formed it. Said company
was dedicated to the exhibition of Christmas cribs in shopping centers and
the banks.
In September 2014, I stopped being part of this company for
forming what is now known as Sceneries of Lola Simon, and even
today

Lola Simón Martín ,

How can you define your style?

I think my style is recognized by taking care of the details.
I love ruins, you’ll always see something to consume in my
scenes, and of course I always like to put water like
representation of life.

I continue to investigate every day to see how I can improve and evolve at best

Are you on social networks?

Social networks have been fundamental for me to do
know my job thanks to them it was the main source of
diffusion.

What do you think of social networks?

They are positive, as long as they are used correctly.
Today, we live in a society in which they are present
everywhere, as you dress to go out and give a
image of you, the same thing happens with social networks I think
you must be present, visible.

Do you have a lot of people following you?

Well, these are not big numbers, but I’m happy with them,
Facebook on my personal profile has reached the maximum allowed; in
Lola Simon’s Scenes page about 7500 people; and on
Instagram 2,071 followers.

Have you triedColle21 products?

What do you think?

I have already tried several Colle21 products
they are fantastic for my work, very fast and very
effective. I’m just starting to use them, to test them, I’m sure
to discover an infinity of functions and more.
I tried them on my wooden accessories and when I have to
use metal or plastic and they are really cool, now that
I discovered the Colle21 products I want to continue using them all the time.

Lola Simón Martín

you can tell us based on what inspired you to do, one

diorama o un model?

My work is almost exclusively controlled, so according to
the style that the customer wants, I do an exhaustive search
real models that can be useful for my work and
from there I start working. I am not able to m ‘
adapt to a sketch or a plan I build, I see
what the job asks me,
It’s so strange to see a woman making models.
Why do you think that?
It is true that few women are devoted to scenography,
but there are some. And I think that even less make models of
agricultural trucks.
The average age of people who have this hobby
About 60 years old, maybe age is for something else.

Have you done a competition?

No, the truth is that I have never participated in any competition, yes
I had to be part of a jury, but never as a participant
contest.

Have magazines talked about you?

In the “belenismo” sector, I collaborated on two different books.
In modeling, and soon in a magazine.
My name will also come out.

What materials do you use to make your models?

My main material for the construction of scenes is the
extruded polystyrene. This is a material used in the
construction as insulation.
It has its advantages and its small disadvantages, but for my work
There are more advantages than disadvantages. By working several times
large scales 1/6 it is a material that does not weigh and I can handle it
comfortably

Can you explain step by step how you study and create a model?

I like to base myself or inspire myself whenever I can in real models.
Every time we go on a trip or leave, I find on vacation
thousands of ideas that can serve as models for future work.
And a little idea I will ask at the base and go
gradually emerge from the model to take its final form.
Repeatedly, the model is done and undone several times
until he finally convinces me.
About devices and accessories for the scenes I’m trying
to imitate real models. I usually start with photos of real models, or
although I found by the network or that I photographed
in travel, museums, etc.

Lola Simón Martín,

Can you give us some pictures?

Of course, I will send you a small sample of what
I realized in my work. I’m sending you some of the latest works of
this year.
You can also see a sample of my work in
